Note: In these answers we will follow a few shorthand conventions for describing user-interface procedures. Key combinations will be presented like this: Ctrl+Alt+Delete, which means that you should press and hold down the Control key, the Alt key, and the Delete key at the same time. Menu selections will be presented like this: File->Open, which means that you should open the File menu, and then make the Open selection.

Scan my computer for viruses.  Try the following websites:

Remember, that securing your computer against viruses and hackers is your responsibility!

 

Clear Proxy settings in Internet Explorer.

Go into the control panel and click on internet options next click on connections tab, and then the LAN Settings button.

 

 

 

 

Under Proxy Server if you see “ANY” of the boxes checked, then you need to remove them.  If just “By Pass Proxy Server for Local Addresses” is checked then  you need to check mark the Proxy server box so that you can uncheck the “By Pass Proxy Server for Local Addresses” box. You must also check the Advanced button, and make sure all the fields in there are clear. The only thing that should have a number in it is the PORT box.  It should have 80 in it.  This is used by antivirus to scan for threats.

 

 

 

 

If this fails download “Super AntiSpyware” form my web site and run a full scan.  It is a simple program to use.
